Polk Historic Site is one of those places where you can find some Charlotte NC history. Fittingly for Charlotte, it's located in the shadow of one of Charlotte's largest malls, Carolina Place Mall. It's a peaceful spot that tells the tale of what life what like in backcountry Mecklenburg County in the early 1800s.
