Providence Woods in Weddington NC has two sections. The older part of the neighborhood is Providence Woods and a second, newer area is called Providence Woods South. 
Construction began in the mid-1980s and continued through the 1990s. The neighborhood is located in the heart of Weddington NC between Hemby Road and Matthews-Weddington Road. Downtown Weddington is nearby, historic downtown Matthews is several miles away, and an intersection with I-485 at Providence Road is within ten minutes of the neighborhood.
Providence Woods is a neighborhood with estate-sized lots offering privacy and mature trees. Neighborhood homes are built on a minimum of an acre. Home styles in Providence Woods include many classic Georgian homes. Most have full-brick exteriors. Some ranches can be found in Providence Woods as well. Heated area ranges from approximately 2700 square feet to over 5000 square feet. Classic interiors include hardwood floors and extensive millwork.
