Porter Ridge Middle School opened in 2005 as a part of a 183-acre campus that includes Porter Ridge Elementary and Porter Ridge High School.  The name of the school comes from the first name of the landowner, Porter Byrum, who donated land for the complex and from Ridge Road where the campus is located.

Porter Ridge Middle serves Grades 6 through 8 with student enrollment over 1000.  Class sizes average 22 to 25 students.  The school operates on a traditional calendar with the 2010-2011 school year beginning on August 25, 2010.

Sports available at Porter Ridge Middle in the fall include volleyball, cheerleading and football.  Winter sports are basketball and wrestling.  Golf, soccer, softball and baseball are available in the spring.

Porter Ridge Middle School serves areas north of Highway 74 in Stallings NC and Indian Trail NC.  Elementary schools that feed the Porter Ridge cluster include Hemby Bridge, Porter Ridge, Poplin and Stallings plus portions of Fairview and Sardis elementaries.  Porter Ridge Middle feeds into Porter Ridge Senior High.

Porter Ridge Elementary is located in the Porter Ridge schools complex with Porter Ridge Middle and Porter Ridge Senior High.   Grades K-5 attend the school on a traditional school calendar.  Porter Ridge also has pre-kindergarten classes.  The school has approximately 1000 students with average class sizes ranging from 18 students to 22 students in the fifth grade.

The 2010-2011 school year begins on August 25, 2010.   An after-school program is available at Porter Ridge Elementary School.

Indian Trail NC Real Estate Market Report—April-June 2010

How did the Indian Trail NC real estate market fare in the second quarter of 2010 and how did it compare with 2009?

In Indian Trail NC, the single family average sales price for the first quarter 2010 increased dramatically over the first quarter rising almost to the 2009 average sales price.  The number of homes closed rose 70% most likely reflecting the federal tax credit stimulus.  Average days on market increased slightly.

There were only two townhomes sold in Indian Trail in the second quarter.  Prices remained steady for this segment of the market.

How did the Indian Trail NC real estate market fare in the first quarter of 2010 and how did it compare with 2009? 

The Indian Trail NC real estate market showed reduced activity during the first quarter of 2010.  The average single family home price dropped significantly from the average price in 2009.  There are relatively few townhomes and condominiums in Indian Trail as reflected in the low number of sales both in all of 2009 and during the first quarter of 2010.

Crismark in Indian Trail NC—Homes for Sale and Neighborhood Profile

Crismark is one of the largest neighborhoods in Indian Trail NC.  Designed to provide a series of villages for every price point, Crismark offers homes for every lifestyle from first time home buyers to empty nesters.  Common area greenways separate the villages and many homes have backyard views of these wooded areas.  Two swimming pools with clubhouses, tennis courts and walking trails serve the neighborhood.

Construction began in Crismark in 2000 and the neighborhood will eventually have about 900 homes.  Prices range from the $130,000s to $400,000s.  The newest section of Crismark to open is called The Enclaves at Crismark.  Buyers in The Enclaves have the opportunity to choose from 300 wooded lots ranging from a quarter acre to over a half acre in size.  Some of The Enclaves lots will accommodate basement homes.  Each home at The Enclaves will be custom-built to the buyer’s specifications.

One of the best features of Crismark in Indian Trail NC is its convenient location.  Located between Stevens Mill Road, Idlewild Road and Mill Grove Road, an interchange with I-485 is just five minutes from the neighborhood.  Three shopping centers with three different grocery stores, a bank, gas stations, and various restaurants and small service shops are located within a mile of the neighborhood’s three entrances.

Indian Trail NC Real Estate Market Report—2009

How did the Indian Trail NC real estate market fare in 2009 and how did it compare with 2008? 

In 2009, average sales prices in Indian Trail NC were off 9 percent for single family homes and off 20 percent for townhomes.  The number of single family homes sold did not change much from 2008, declining only 6%.  The number of Indian Trail NC townhomes sold, however, dropped a dramatic 62%.  Sellers in both years waited around one hundred days to sell their single family homes and about 120 days to sell their townhomes in both years.
