Would you like a Craftsman-style home with shingle accents and a big welcoming front porch?  Taylor Glen in Indian Trail NC is a great place to find your perfect home.  It is a large neighborhood where you can find ranches and two-story homes, single family detached homes or attached townhomes, new homes or resale home.  The heart of Taylor Glen is its community amenities, including a clubhouse with swimming pool, tennis courts, walking trails and a pond plus a large recreation area with playing fields.

Brookhaven in Indian Trail NC—Homes for Sale and Neighborhood Profile

Want to be able to walk your children to their elementary school?  If so, consider Brookhaven in Indian Trail NC.  Brookhaven is next door to Antioch Elementary School and extends from Antioch Church Road to Chestnut Lane in Union County.  This convenient location is between Matthews and Providence Road near the Mecklenburg County-Union County line.  Shopping is nearby at Austin Village or Plantation Marketplace where the Siskey YMCA is located.

Brandon Oaks in Indian Trail NC is a master planned community of eighteen distinct neighborhoods.  Construction began in Brandon Oaks in the mid-1990s and continues today.  When complete, Brandon Oaks will have over a thousand homes and will be Indian Trail NC’s largest neighborhood.  A central landscaped parkway runs through the community providing access to the various neighborhoods and the community amenities.

Brandon Oaks is located between Old Monroe Road and Wesley Chapel-Stouts Road with three entrances into the neighborhood.  A variety of community shopping facilities, including a Harris Teeter grocery store, a Starbucks, a bank, and restaurants, are within walking distance of the neighborhood.

Brandon Oaks has two swim and tennis facilities.  The Brandon Oaks Swim and Tennis Club, with a regulation-size pool, a kiddie pool, a basketball court and two tennis courts, is located near a community pond with playground and walking trails.  The Brandon Oaks Sports Club has a resort-style pool with 85-foot water slide and wading pool with water fall and water play features.  A series of walking trails connects the various neighborhoods to the amenity centers.

Meriwether in Indian Trail NC—Homes for Sale and Neighborhood Profile

Meriwether in Indian Trail NC is a great neighborhood for first time home buyers.  Homes in the Meriwether community are more affordable than many Indian Trail neighborhoods built in the late 1990s and early 2000s.  Home styles in Meriwether include small ranches with open floor plans as well as two-story homes.  Most homes have one or two-car garages.

The Meriwether neighborhood has two sections, one on each side of Rogers Road.  Each section was designed to have a village atmosphere with the eastern village consisting of larger homes and the western village emphasizing starter homes with ranches predominating.  Both villages have access to the Meriwether neighborhood amenities, including a fishing lake, clubhouse and pool, volleyball and basketball courts and walking trails.

Meriwether is located in the Sun Valley area about midway between Matthews and Monroe.  A grocery store, a bank, restaurants, coffee shop and service businesses are nearby with big box retailers within five miles of the neighborhood.  The Shiloh/Sun Valley schools complex is within two miles of the neighborhood.

Crismark in Indian Trail NC has a new upscale section called The Enclaves at Crismark.  New Tradition Custom Homes will be building homes on over 300 wooded lots ranging in size from a quarter acre to 0.6 acre.  Buyers can select from seven floor plans, customize one of these plans for their needs, or get a quote on another plan of their choosing.  Pricing ranges from just under $350,000 to $425,000.

The homes at this Indian Trail NC neighborhood will have exteriors loaded with character.  Each home will have a front porch and a rear porch.  Exterior materials will be stone, brick, cedar shakes and Hardie-plank siding.  The homes will be built on crawl spaces with brick foundations.  Basement lots are also available.

The interiors at the Enclaves at Crismark will include wood floors, moldings and arches, and gourmet kitchens with 42" cabinetry, granite countertops and stainless appliances.  All stairways will have wooden railings with wrought-iron pickets.  Buyers may choose additional upgrades to enhance their home's interior.

Crismark in Indian Trail NC has an elegant stone and wrought-iron entry of Stevens Mill Road.  A new clubhouse, swimming pool, tennis courts and playground are nearly finished at the entrance.  Two entrances to I-485 are within two miles of the neighborhood as are two community shopping centers with groceries, pharmacies, a bank, and restaurants.

Crismark is a large Indian Trail NC neighborhood with three entrances on Idlewild Road, Mill Grove Road and Stevens Mill Road.  Construction began in Crismark in 2000.  Currently about half-finished, the neighborhood will eventually have approximately 900 homes.  Crismark is separated into distinct villages with common area greenways separating the villages.  The common areas allow many of Crismark's homes to have wooded buffer areas behind their backyards.  A swim club has been completed in one of the amenity areas.  Another swim club is under construction to serve later phases of the development.

Crismark Homes

A variety of lot sizes define the various villages within Crismark.  Smaller homes with stone and vinyl or brick and vinyl exteriors are built on one-eighth to one-quarter lots.  Larger brick homes on half-acre lots line the main parkways through the neighborhood.  Future phases of Crismark will have larger lot sections with full-brick homes.  Some of these lots will be up to one acre in size.

Eastwood Homes is currently building in Crismark.  Pricing of the Eastwoods new construction starts in the upper $170,000s and ranges to the $230,000s.  According to the Carolina Multiple Listing Service, there have been 26 closed sales in Crismark in 2008.  Closed prices ranged from $143,100 to $442,155.  Average square footage of these homes was 2698 sq.ft. and the average price was $234,114.  As of November 2008, there are 28 homes for sale in Crismark.  The median price of the homes for sale is $215,000 and average price is $231,000.

Nearby Amenities

Crismark is conveniently located near shopping and highways.  The neighborhood wraps around a small neighborhood shopping center with a grocery store in Hemby Bridge.  The Stevens Mill Crossing shopping center with grocery, pharmacy, video store and restaurants is just a mile away.  Two interchanges with I-485 are several miles away and the new Bridges of Mint Hill mall will be located at one of these interchanges.

Brookhaven's builder is John Wieland Homes.  Nearing completion, the neighborhood will total approximately 500 homes.  Most of the neighborhood lies within the Town of Indian Trail, but a small section with 33 homes is located in Weddington.  The Weddington section is called The Preserve at Brookhaven.  Homes in The Preserve range in price from $499,900 to $559,900.  These homes have between 3500 sq.ft. to 4300 sq.ft.  New homes offered in the Indian Trail part of Brookhaven range in price from $619,900 to $729,900 and in size from 3100 sq.ft. to 4500 sq.ft.

The Carolina Multiple Listing Service reports 71 home sales in Brookhaven during 2008.  This number represents both resales and new construction.  The lowest priced sale in the neighborhood was $305,000 and the highest was $959,000.  The average sales price was $585,692 and the average size was 3990 sq.ft.

• Ryland also offers single family homes in the $200,000 to $250,000 price range as well as The Gardens at Brandon Oaks, a patio home community with lawn maintenance. These homes all have master bedrooms on the first floor and range from 1500 sq.ft. to 2300 sq.ft. Pricing ranges from the $190,000s to the $220,000s.
• Shea's homes start near 3000 sq.ft. and range in price from the $250,000s to the $360,000s with full brick exteriors.

Brandon Oak's resale market for homes is very active and a wide variety of prices and sizes can be found.  As of October 1, 2008, the Carolina Multiple Listing Service reports the following statistics for the neighborhood:

• Sixty one homes are on the market.  Prices range from $168,900 for an 1800-2200 sq.ft. home to $475,000 for a 3600-4300 sq.ft. home.  The median asking price for these 61 homes is $238,000.
• Thirty six homes sold in Brandon Oaks during the first nine months of 2008.  Prices ranged from $160,000 to $350,000.    The average sales price was $220,000 and the average heated living area was 2234 sq.ft.

You can enjoy a real front porch and not worry about lawn maintenance.

Bonterra Village has three sections with maintenance-free yards:  Patio Homes with pricing from $207,000 to $230,000, the Heritage Collection with pricing from the $230,000s to the $250,000s, and the Charleston Series with double porches ranging from the $190,000s to $215,000.

You can lease a horse and take riding lessons at Windy Oaks Stables at the second entrance of Bonterra.

Windy Oaks Stables is a private boarding facility with a barn and paddocks.  A new elementary school is under construction directly across from this Bonterra entrance.
